We were going to kick off the 37th edition of the Eilat Jazz Festival, which was ready and waiting, at the end of the summer of 2023. Our plans, though, didn’t match with reality. The festival’s creative team, coordinated by Yossi Paine and Niva Amalei Maoz, put together a phenomenal artistic lineup this year that features significant and cutting-edge Israeli-international producers alongside up-and-coming young jazz musicians in every hue the scene has to offer. An array of original productions, record releases, collaborations, and special events are planned for the festival, which will be held in the port of Eilat outdoors with breathtaking views of the ships and the sea.

A weekend getaway in the sweet November sun that only Eilat can offer

As part of our collaboration with the International Showcase Festival, we will host a “Showcase Night” late into the night at the Jasper08 club in the Agamim Hotel, featuring a number of selected bands. Entry to “Showcase Night” is free, subject to availability.

At the festival, you will meet the very first class of artists who bring new virtuoso magic to the stage in a variety of ensembles of almost every shape – from a full orchestra to collectives and ensembles to intimate sets that produce great sound.

The program will begin with a moving tribute to the late pianist Maurice El Medioni, performed by The Jerusalem Orchestra East West under the baton of maestro Tom Cohen and featuring none other than Omri Mor on piano. Marina Maximilian in a special solo show for the festival where she hosts favorite jazz musicians and from here Eli Dejibri will take the stage with a group of New York musicians, Avishai Cohen who will launch his new album Brightlight, Nega Erez performing with a string quartet and other friends, Yossi Fine and the supergroup in a glittering salute to Weather Report,

Nigun Quartet with new Jewish music inspired by Jewish melodies, the trio of Azeri pianist Shahin Novrasli, Yoni Rechter, and Rona Kenan together and individually hosting Maya Belsitzman, Guy Mintus band will explore the timeless music of Mozart, Stav Achai in a show from her recently released second album, Mark Eliyahu will host Berry Sakharof and Daniel Zamir in a show just before Shabbat, and the list goes on. The festival will wrap up in a groovy celebration, featuring Peled and Mazi Cohen, one of Israel’s favorite female vocalists.
