For the past four years, music photographer Perez has immersed himself in the Israeli jazz scene, meeting dozens of musicians and connecting with individuals deeply versed in the history of jazz in Israel, as well as experts shaping its contemporary landscape. He is now working to share this story with a wider audience.
Scheduled for release in late November 2024, his book will delve into the history of jazz in Israel, the development of jazz education, the current scene, and the “Israeli jazz big bang” that began in the 1990s. It will also feature captivating photos and biographies of 80 prominent musicians.
